The story of Vanderley Azevedo Artisanal Cachaça began in 1940 when Sérgio José de Araújo (Vanderley's grandfather) came to the town of Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais in search of diamonds. He later gave up diamond mining and set up a warehouse to sell food and drink to the diamond mine workers and townspeople. In 1968, his grandson Vanderley Azevedo began working with him in the warehouse, where he was responsible for bottling the cachaça. In 1984, Vanderley Azevedo bought a farm to produce his own cachaça. The Cachaça Vandeley Azevedo has a 35-year tradition. Even though he didn't find any diamonds, Sérgio would be proud of the rarity his grandson created. A cachaca of unique quality with a great complexity of aromas and flavors.Ironically, it is now more sought after in the region than diamonds. Vanderley Azevendo Premium Cachaça is aged in French oak barrels, known as the best oak barrels in Europe for aging beverages. The fact that the grain of French oak is finer than that of American oak increases the porosity and thus the micro-oxygen supply of the cachaça. Vanderley Azevendo Premium Cachaça is amber in color, a delicate aroma with notes of spices. Elegant palate with hints of tropical fruits, coconut and herbs.
