ORGANIC & FAIR TRADE sweet potato flour

The sweet potato is an extraordinary vegetable whose characteristics are very different from those of the potato. In natural and sports dietetics, it is unanimously praised because its glycemic index is low and its nutritional profile, rich and balanced, is perfectly suited to everyone. A purple variety of sweet potato is even one of the staple foods of Okinawan centenarians! Its benefits are also attributed to its richness in vitamin A, B6, B9 and C. In the form of flour, it is not only a substitute for wheat flour but as such it is also an ingredient of choice for making bread and all types of pastries: cakes, waffles, tarts, pancakes, etc. We have selected a sweet potato origin from South India, grown by producers involved in our organic-fair trade sector located in the Bangalore region which brings together independent farmers. This new cultivation project brings farmers new prospects for development and diversification of their production. The commitment of Fairtrade producers makes it possible to sustainably offer a fair income and to contribute to projects favorable to the community.
