Organic Salina Cucunci

Salina's organic cucuncio is the highly prized fruit of the caper plant, a concentrate of flavor and nutrients.  The caper that we commonly consume is in fact the flower bud of the plant, not the fruit.  It is meatier and tastier and rich in quercitin, which promotes diuretic activities and rutin which strengthens the capillaries.  Its peculiarities have allowed the recognition of the Slow Food Presidium for this variety.
