Helena Lee is a Swedish photographer and amateur gardener who makes eco-friendly stationery and prints for people who love nature. She came to the UK in 1994 to study art and gained her photography degree from London College of Printing.
Helena brought her Swedish influences and visual language with her as she looks for simplicity and clean lines when making her images. In her artwork, Helena always aims to strip things back, removing what she feels is unnecessary visual information to focus on the essence of an idea or an image. She aims to capture the pure beauty and wonder of nature in her photos, often taken in her own garden or on local nature walks, which she translates into minimalist designs for her products.
Helena prints all her stationery herself in her studio using water-soluble inkjet printing, with the ink cartridges fully recycled.
Cards are 100% recycled made from post-consumer waste. This means that the paper used to make the card is not newly made, it is entirely made from the paper that we put in our recycling bins.
Envelopes are made from 100% recycled post-industrial waste or sustainable eucalyptus.
Single cards and prints are wrapped in a compostable sleeve & note card packs are tied with compostable hemp cord coloured with non-toxic dyes.
My work is a way to share my love of nature and by making my products eco-friendly I hope to spread the message that working sustainably is possible and easy to do!
