Amaterasu Diary Art

Let their creativity shine Under the benevolence and good guard of Amaterasu, the Japanese goddess of the sun, allows their creativities to take place, to shine and to show their hidden talents. Now is not the time for questions but for action. To their pens, brushes or scissors and on the way to creativity. An invitation to benevolence Under the protection of Amaterasu, benevolence towards his creativity is in order. No criticism or judgment, whatever the outcome of his creative practice. The goddess invites them to indulgence, benevolence and self-confidence. They highlight the importance of path and practice rather than talent and purpose. Inspired by Amaterasu O mi kami, (Auguste Divinity who illuminates the sky), the goddess of the sun and queen of the “high celestial plains” (Takama-no-hara or Takama-ga-hara) is the most honored of the kami of the Japanese Shinto pantheon. Born from Izanagi's left eye, she was so brilliant that her father sent her to heaven on the Celestial Ladder where she has reigned ever since. He offered her his necklace of sacred pearls for his departure. She is usually represented by a metallic mirror and her representations in human form are more recent and of popular origin. She is traditionally dressed in a white garment with red lining and her hair is long and undone. She created the rice fields, called “inada”. She also invented the art of weaving through the loom and taught people how to grow wheat and raise silkworms. According to a legend it was Amaterasu and his servants who wove the web of the universe which was not yet complete and in another version they wove the clothes of the kami and of the people who officiated during the ceremonies of his cult. The Amaterasu notebook can become: - an art diary - a sketchbook
