Morita pepper dry and whole

Whole and dried Morita peppers.  The Morita pepper is a variety of Mexican chili pepper often used in Mexican cuisine to add flavor and heat to dishes.   It has a smoky, slightly sweet taste with medium to high heat, which is similar to chipotle pepper.  The Morita chili pepper measures 2,500 to 8,000 units on the Scoville scale.   This puts it in a medium to high heat range, similar to the jalapeño pepper.
