In NANTES, Magic City, cats turn into sweets...
This is how 120 years ago (since 1902), Mr. Charles BOHU, Confectioner gave the name of his cat to the delicacy he had just invented "RIGOLETTE": it seems a name inspired by the Opera of Verdi, "Rigoletto".
The manufacturing process of this famous century-old specialty is very complex to achieve. From a thin shell of steamed sugar, the Rigolettes are filled with a genuine and exquisite fruit pulp selected then frosted.
The traditional flavors are lemon, mandarin, pineapple, raspberry and blackcurrant.
This filled candy has been somewhat copied since its creation, but never equaled.
Historical and artisanal, La Rigolette is today part of the heritage of the city of Nantes.
