
The Tandoori Masala spice mix is a classic of Indian cuisine. This spicy rub is used to season meat (especially poultry), but also breaded cheese or vegetables. The ingredients are traditionally cooked in a tandoor oven, which is very common in India. It is used to enrich many dishes, such as the famous naans or tandoori chicken, with its characteristic smoky and spicy flavor. The paprika and chili give the mixture its red color and its characteristic spicy flavor; garlic, coriander, cumin and ginger add depth. Our Tandoori Masala was developed by Chutnify, one of the best Indian restaurants in Berlin. Tandoori Masala was popularized by Kundan Lal Gujral, the owner of Moti Mahal restaurant in Delhi. Although the chicken has been around since the 16th century, Cooked in the tandoor since the 19th century, Gujral's version - crispy on the outside and bright red in colour - has been a huge success. In the late 1940s, the restaurant was very well known and was frequented by celebrities such as Nixon, J. f. Kennedy and Gandhi visited.
