The Aleppo pepper is a pepper originating from the region of Aleppo, in Syria, nowadays mainly cultivated in Turkey. It has a fruity taste and sweet undertones. It is oilier and saltier than Espelette pepper; salt is often used in the drying process. Its flavor is rather sweet and fruity. It is a round pepper with a scent of dried tomatoes.
