Elin Wägner

Elin Wägner was a writer, journalist and one of the most important forerunners of the Swedish women's movement. Wägner's work is permeated by her political ideas in feminism, peace work and environmental issues. In 1908, she had her breakthrough with the novel Norrtullsligan, and two years later the acclaimed novel Pennskaftet was published. Wägner is undoubtedly one of Swedish feminism's foremost storytellers, and her writing has left a clear imprint on classic Swedish literature. Industrial designer Jan Landqvist is responsible for the idea and design of the series »Swedish literature support«, Landqvist has many years of professional experience from Gustavsberg's factories and has designed everything from porcelain for bathrooms to giftware and plastic products. The bookends are made in Gnosjö, Sweden and are made of cut and bent sheet steel that has been treated with a black, durable powder coating. The dimensions are 15×15 centimeters for the portraits and 10×15 centimeters for the base plate. Designer: Landqvist, Jan
