Selma Lagerlöf (1858-1940) was a Swedish writer. She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature (1909) and the first woman to sit in the Swedish Academy (1914). Her debut novel Gösta Berling's Saga was published in 1891, but it was Nils Holgersson's wonderful journey through Sweden (1906) that really made the Swedish people take her to their hearts. Industrial designer Jan Landqvist is responsible for the idea and design of Novellix bookends. The bookends are made in Gnosjö in Småland and are made of cut and bent sheet steel that has been treated with a black, durable powder coating. The dimensions are 15×15 cm for the portraits and 10×15 cm for the base plate. Designer: Landqvist, Jan
