Vilhelm Moberg

Vilhelm Moberg (1898–1973), was a Swedish writer, journalist and playwright. He was born in Småland as the son of a soldier. It is also precisely there that most of his works originate. After a few years as a journalist for various regional newspapers, Moberg broke through as a writer in 1927 with the novel Raskens. But it was with the Utvandrar series, a novel suite of four books published in the 1950s, that the Swedish people took him to their hearts. Industrial designer Jan Landqvist is responsible for the idea and design of the series »Swedish literature support«, Landqvist has many years of professional experience from Gustavsberg's factories and has designed everything from porcelain for bathrooms to giftware and plastic products. The bookends are made in Gnosjö, Sweden and are made of cut and bent sheet steel that has been treated with a black, durable powder coating. The dimensions are 15×15 centimeters for the portraits and 10×15 centimeters for the base plate. Designer: Landqvist, Jan
