It has very ancient origins that go back several centuries, when the Genoese ships returning from the East passed through the Port of Trapani, where they brought the tradition of the “agliata” sauce, typical of Liguria, made with garlic and nut. The inhabitants of Trapani then added products from the land of Sicily, tomatoes and almonds, to this sauce. This made it possible to create Pesto Trapansese. Who is behind Ponticcioli?
