Hickory smoked salt and chili peppers provide the spicy, smoky flavor characteristic of Southern American cuisine. To produce Hickory salt, coarse sea salt is smoked for several days. This allows the smoke to condense on the salt crystals and give a “smoky” taste to our mixture. Smoked Alabama pairs particularly well with beef and pork (grilled in a smoker or directly over a wood fire). This mixture can also be used to spice up soups, tomato sauces, bruschetta, or even fried or scrambled eggs. It can also be mixed with fromage blanc to create a smoky dip for raw vegetables.
