Oregano

Oregano is to the South of Italy what basil is to the North. Very present in all the gastronomy of the boot, oregano is a Mediterranean plant which takes its name from the Greek oros ganos which means “the joy of the mountains”. Its taste is very similar to that of marjoram, which grows in France, but slightly more intense. Oregano is mainly used at the end of cooking to keep flavors intact, as well as raw in salads, vinaigrettes or sprinkled on meat. Oregano is used in particular in pizzas, pasta, with tomatoes and sauces, grilled meats and pan-fried vegetables.Origin: Italy
