Upcycling wall art hippopotamus made from flip flops

A real African hippopotamus... …is resplendent in colorful beauty from the wall! The great thing is that it is made from 100% recycled flip-flops. The Kenyan organization OceanSole collects the sandals that have washed up on the coasts of Africa and has local artists use them to create colorful design objects, which at the same time avoid masses of rubber waste. In addition, the people employed at OceanSole from Nairobi and various Kenyan areas have fair and long-term career prospects. The wall decoration consists of colorful, processed sandal rubber. A total of 30 flip flops were used for the hippopotamus. The length is 35 cm and the diameter is 20 cm. Each product is handmade and therefore unique. The appearance and nature of the material can therefore vary slightly.
