Its extremely sharp blade will navigate you safely through the stormy waters of the culinary world. Whether vegetables, meat, fish or bread: With its versatile application and robust construction, the BUOM has everything you need for the three great virtues as well as other cutting tasks in the kitchen. BUOM & its shape: Japanese Santoku meets Vietnamese craftsmanship The BUOM is inspired by the classic Santoku shape, which has always been highly valued in Japanese cuisine. Santoku literally means “three virtues” and describes the knife’s suitability for cutting vegetables, meat and fish. Our all-purpose knife excels at precisely these three tasks. But our sail is not a simple copy – it is the result of real Vietnamese craftsmanship. With a blade length of 16 or 20 cm and a thickness of approx. At 2 mm, it is big enough to play a serious role in the kitchen. The Asian kitchen knife is so handy that you can use it effortlessly for all kinds of tasks. The blade of the BUOM is typical of a Santoku knife: it is wide and has an almost straight cutting edge with a slightly curved tip. This shape ensures that you have excellent control when cutting and that the blade glides effortlessly through the material being cut. The slightly curved tip allows you to make the finest cuts with a gentle rocking motion - perfect for chopping herbs or finely slicing fish fillets. In addition, the blade is strong, wide and yet sharp enough to turn even the most stubborn bread dough into even slices. And what if you dare to try a tomato? No problem – the BUOM glides through the skin without squeezing the fruit. Meat? A piece of cake. Fish? It's clear. There is hardly anything this knife cannot cut with ease. The BUOM all-purpose knife impresses with its versatility: The knife is your all-rounder for the kitchen The BUOM is not just any chef's knife, it is the all-rounder among kitchen knives. Thanks to the robust, wide blade and the pointed end, you can also use it for more precise work - and it always remains comfortable to hold. Whether you are chopping up bread, cheese, tomatoes or sausage for a snack: with the chopping knife you can cut delicate strips, precise cubes or thin slices. It is strong enough to function as a carving knife, boning knife, and even an all-purpose knife.   The BUOM handle: safe, elegant & robust The BUOM knife shaft is firmly driven into the handle and secured with a clamp so that it doesn't suddenly fall apart even after years of use. The clamp handle not only gives your knife additional stability, but also a classic look that looks great in any kitchen. Don't hide your great Asian knife in a cutlery drawer, but store it safely and representatively on a decorative magnetic strip made of precious wood such as coffee wood, olive or cherry wood or in a stylish knife block from us. Razor-sharp blades made of carbon steel Our AUTHENTIC BLADES are forged entirely by hand in small family businesses in Vietnam. Each step of the process follows a centuries-old tradition. Each blade is cut out, hardened and ground using large tin snips without punching. Each handle is carved by hand and gives your BUOM a very individual look. Since the blade of the BUOM is made of carbon steel (also called carbon steel), it can be ground particularly sharp and resharpened by you without any problem. This is because carbon steel has a finer grain and higher hardness than many other types of steel. These properties allow our master blacksmiths to bring the blade to a very thin and sharp edge without it breaking or becoming blunt easily. We explain how you can resharpen your BUOM yourself in our guide “Knife sharpening”. Carbon steel masters a variety of cutting tasks. However, it does not like water because it is not rustproof. However, if you take good care of your carbon steel knife, you don't have to worry about rust stains. Just remember: ● Wash your BUOM after use with water and if necessary. a mild detergent. Then dry it thoroughly. ●Do not put your knife in the dishwasher, as it will be exposed to a damp environment for too long and may develop rust stains. ●Use a suitable knife oil regularly to protect the surface. In our article “Knives made of carbon or Carbon steel” you will find further useful information about the special features of Asian knives.   BUOM: The perfect companion for your kitchen adventures Our BUOM is so sharp that it can handle even the toughest cutting tasks. It is robust enough to handle demanding tasks, but at the same time fine enough to cut even the most delicate ingredients with precision. A true all-purpose knife that should not be missing from any well-stocked kitchen. So, set sail and set sail with the BOOM – or rather, into the next mountain of vegetables, meat or fish!
