
This small batch of a single cask from the Chalong Bay distillery (255 bottles in total) is the third bottle in a collection of limited editions inspired by the Thai lunar calendar, called Lunar Series. Each year is symbolized by an animal and 2024 is dedicated to Dargon (Lunar Series #3) Distilled in Thailand then aged 13 months in Ex-Jamaican barrels in Gers (France), this rum was bottled at its natural strength. Handcrafted from a distinct variety of Thai sugarcane grown organically in the lush jungles and valleys of Phuket, this unique rum undergoes a unique press extraction, followed by natural fermentation for over 13 days. Distilled in our traditional French copper still heated over direct fire, it aged for 13 months in an old Jamaican rum barrel. This single cask presents a generous and rich aromatic profile, embodying the strength and power of the Year of the Dragon. Vol. 70 cl. Tasting Notes Nose: Rich and warm, with aromas of caramel, banana, exotic fruits and sweet spices. Palate: Generous and lively, with notes of toasted hazelnut, citrus, orange zest, and a touch of toast.Finish: Long, balanced. Mineral (heated asphalt), finely liquorice and floral (geranium, iris), the finish is softened by the presence of vanilla and milky flavors (coconut, yogurt). Over time, it becomes more aniseed and camphorated. Fibrous, the retro-olfaction makes us contemplate a field of cane.
