The gueffus, or, in Italian, "guelfi", are famous examples of the confectionery tradition of Sardinia and are handcrafted by the Corronca Biscottificio. Each Guelph is a small almond paste praline characterized by the combination of liqueur and citrus aromas. This is then covered with a light layer of sugar and wrapped in a typically colored tissue paper wrapper with playful and lively hues. Loved for their simple sweetness, offered and consumed both on special occasions and in everyday life, Guelphs are small worlds of Sardinian flavour.
