Black Kampot Pepper

Our Kampot pepper comes from a small producer in the province of Kep in Cambodia who benefits from the PGI Kampot pepper and does not use pesticides. Kampot pepper is one of the very first products to benefit from a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) in Asia. We can say that this exceptional pepper has come a long way because in 1975 after the Khmer Rouge (communist dictatorship) took power in Cambodia, the cultivation of Kampot pepper was completely stopped to promote mass agricultural production such as cultivation rice. But that would not be without counting on the tenacity of the terroir of the province of Kampot and Kep, located between the sea and the mountains, which gives Kampot pepper its exceptional aromas. On the nose, before grinding, we find this clean, flawless nose, beautiful peppery and green tea notes with a subtle touch of freshness. On the palate, the biting but delicate spiciness arrives quite quickly accompanied by a freshness reminiscent of Eucalyptus, followed by delicious notes of fresh wood and pine sap typical of Cambodian peppers. Then, at the end of the mouth, a slight touch of citrus fruit, subtly tangy. Kampot pepper is of unequaled complexity and perfection thanks to the meticulous work of the producers to whom we owe this exceptional IGP.
