
This Jun Chiyabari black tea comes from a spring harvest (first flush). It is composed of large leaves with numerous clearly visible white buds. Its aromatic richness is exceptional. Its golden liquor releases floral, fruity, woody aromas and hints of honey. Jun Chiyabari Garden is located in eastern Nepal, in the Hile Valley. It extends over approximately 90 hectares between 1650 and 2200 meters above sea level. It produces green teas and black teas in spring, summer and fall harvests. Jun Chiyabari means “moonlit tea garden” in Nepali. It is a recent garden, created in 2000. The first plantings were made in 2001 with a selection of high quality cultivars. So each tea is a blend of different cultivars. Jun Chiyabari has been certified organic farming since the beginning (certification by OMI Switzerland). The crops are organized in small plots within a 10 km radius around the farm. Within and between these small plots on the hill slopes are forests, bamboo groves, rocks, streams, rivers.
