Durone di Romagna Cherries Alcohol and sugar are the main ingredients used in the slow preparation of Oltresole Cherries under Spirit. Made scrupulously following the ancient traditional Romagna recipe, Cherries in Spirit with Cherry Liqueur are ideal for decorating desserts and ice creams in all seasons. Thanks to this method, in fact, cherries can be preserved for a long time. It is a procedure that is handed down from generation to generation, always in the same way. This preserve is prepared using only Durone cherries: an ancient variety well known in Romagna that stands out for its very large red-blackish fruits with firm and crunchy pulp, very tasty and unmistakable; subsequently put into jars by hand with the addition of grappa and left to rest for several months. Juicy, they are also excellent to be tasted on their own simply by opening the jar as a dessert. Obviously the liqueur is not only used to preserve and flavor cherries: in turn it is flavored.
