
Quinoa is a herbaceous plant native to South America, also widely used in Italy often as a substitute for rice in the diets of gluten intolerants. Oltresole quinoa comes from organic cultivation and is available in the white variety. Quinoa is characterized by a high protein value and a low fat content, the perfect food to integrate into low-calorie, vegan and vegetarian diets. Oltresole organic quinoa is rich in nutrients: fibre, vitamin C and E, mineral salts such as magnesium, potassium and iron and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Gluten-free white quinoa, compared to red or black quinoa, has a more neutral flavour, adapting to different preparations. Before using Oltresole organic quinoa we recommend rinsing the grains under water and then boiling for approximately 10-12 minutes. To make quinoa tasty, it's important to toast the grains before adding the cooking liquid.
