Oolong Shui Xian tea from Taiwan - 50 g

Oolong Shui Xian tea derives from a type of camellia cultivar quite widespread in Taiwan even if, often, when we talk about this variety, we refer to the Wuyi mountains in the Fujian region of China. 

The reason why the Shui Xian cultivar (and some of its descendants) can be found on the island today is linked to the migrations of Chinese farmers from Fujian who, as early as 1800, brought some camellias from their area to Taiwan. 

Thanks to the good resistance and adaptability of this variety of plant coming from the Wuyi mountains, it is still possible to find products like the one we are presenting to you today. 

At a first visual examination it can also be noted that the processing of this product still follows very much the techniques used for Chinese rock oolongs, in fact, the leaf has a high level of oxidation and a dark brown color given by the intense roasting performed with charcoal.
