Mustard Powder

Composition: MUSTARD in Powder. Mustard (from the Latin mustum ardens, “burning must”) is a condiment prepared from the seeds of a plant of the Brassicaceae family, also called Mustard. Their color varies between yellowish white and black depending on the species and contributes to the color of the condiment. Mustard is prevalent in many regional and continental cuisines. In India, mustard seeds are often cooked whole to give a special flavor to the oil. The oil extracted from the seeds is used for cooking in Bengal. In France, the condiment known as Mustard is made from the seeds (especially the yolks), often reduced to flour and mixed with verjuice. Other ingredients can be added, for example Sugars, Honey, vinegar, wine or milk. Whole seeds can be submerged in liquid before grinding if you want to make old-fashioned grain mustard.
