BÜYÜLÜBAĞ Öküzgözü – Bogazkere 2019 red wine-Turkish winery

Bright red with a predominantly cherry scent, plus blackberry, blackcurrant and plum. A light touch of cinnamon, licorice, pepper, anise seed and cocoa. The fruit returns in the taste with something of raspberry (due to the acidity). Medium plus flavor and a nice combination of ripeness and freshness. The tannin and acidity are both medium plus and it has a medium finish. In general, mainly on its fruit with also riper notes. From classic Turkish dishes to Dutch fare A nice glass to drink and delicious to eat with. Especially with (grilled) meat, BBQ, seasoned and/or spicy meat dishes. But also think of stews and/or oven dishes. Even slightly chilled with richer (spicy) fish dishes or, for example, your piri piri scampi. With harder types of cheese or of course with your Köfte. The area in northwest Turkey in and around the Sea of Marmara and which runs further west via Thrace to Greece. The area runs broadly from Istanbul to Thrace, which extends into both Greece (western Thrace) and Bulgaria (northern Thrace). This producer is literally located in the Sea of Marmara.
