Filters come to you from La Candelilla Estate, a private farm owned by seven brothers / brother-in-law Ricardo Hernandez, Didier Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Pablo Sanchez, Hugo Naranjo, Mario René Solis and Enrique Rivera. Known for being one of the first micro-mills in Costa Rica, La Candelilla pioneered the specialty coffee movement in the early 2000s. It's important to mention that they first became famous for their great coffee mug profiles, which are made using the washed process. Our Eureka! Filter has exactly this type of processing. The Hernandez family have farmed the land in Tarrazú for five generations and have been producing coffee in the same area for over 50 years. They also donate to schools in the area each year, meeting the requirements of their certification to run a café. The Eureka! Filter coffee is characterized by a velvety body and sweet, fruity aromas, mixed with dark chocolate and a persistent acidity.
