
Les Pins 2023 Monbazillac Appellation “Freshness and elegance”, 2023 is distinguished by a fruity nose with citrus notes of Noble Rot Sémillon, beautiful floral notes too. The palate of rare finesse combines elegance and fruitiness, the finish remains fresh and perfumed. This vintage comes from three sortings. The care given to these grapes is identical to that intended for our great vintages. The name “Les Pins” corresponds to the “Dutch Brand” of the estate (Classification of First growths of Monbazillac in the 19th century). THE VINEYARD The entire surface area in production, i.e. 7 ha, allows this vintage to be produced, especially the young vines. Limestone and marly subsoil, mainly clayey and clay-limestone soils. Cool terroir, forming a cirque, draining thanks to the slope, quite late, frost-free. East and North orientation. Sémillon and muscadelle grape varieties Age of vines: 5 to 35 years, around 15 years on average Planting density: 5300 feet. Cultivation method: Organic Agriculture, Ecocert certification. Manual harvest by successive sorting of grapes affected by noble rot, four sortings. WINEMAKING AND AGING Finishing sorting in the cellar. Feeding by press belt, no crushing. Gentle pressing. Cold settling in vats. Everything is done by gravity. Fermentation in barrels and vats for 3 months. É12 months of ageing in French oak barrels and vats. Bonding and filtration upon placement, no cold stabilization treatment, natural deposits may appear. Monbazillac, Sémillon and Muscadelle, clay-limestone terroir.
