Montebello - White Rum Cuvée Brigade

The Montebello distillery was founded in 1930 under the name Carrère. After a period of rapid growth, its activity began to gradually slow down after the Second World War and almost disappeared in 1968. It was at this time that Jean Marsolle and his son Alain, originally from a family established in Guadeloupe for several generations, have bought it back. In 1975, the distillery was modernized and production restarted. It then took the name Montebello and became the third producer in Guadeloupe. Since January 2012, Grégory Marsolle, Alain's son, has managed the family distillery. Production has been further improved and all waste is now reused: the bagasse from the pressed cane is used as fuel. A particularity of Montebello is to place the oak barrels in metal containers to speed up the aging process, while other distilleries seek to reduce the angel's share.
