The legendary Côte de Nuits, and its string of prestigious appellations that make the whole world dream, has the reputation (justified!) of producing unaffordable wines. Côte de Nuits-Villages is the happy exception that proves the rule. It can be produced on the territory of 5 villages which border the heart of the Côte de Nuits: Fixin and Brochon to the north, Premeaux, Comblanchien and Corgoloin to the south. The Côté de Nuits-Villages must be an introduction to the great wines of the Côte with which it has in common elegance, distinction and intense and fleshy fruit. Our cuvée of Côte de Nuits Villages comes from 75% of the northern part of the Côte de Nuits (Brochon, Fixin), robust, expressing itself through a beautiful bouquet of black fruit and 25% from plots of the southern part of the Côte de Nuits (Premeaux, Comblanchien) providing suppleness and volume on the palate. The grapes are picked manually, sorted, and the vinification is done in destemmed harvest. The aging of 14 months is done with 10% new barrels. Magnificent deep color tinged with blue. Superb, fresh and airy nose, typical of the Côte de Nuits with aromas of black cherries and spices. Magnificent attack on the palate, velvety, ample, showing a perfect balance between maturity and acidity. Notes of black fruits, wild plums, bark, hazelnut, coffee. Touches of spices and incense, beeswax and dark chocolate. Still firm tannins that will blend over time.
