-Made with 100% Muscat of Alexandria - Organically grown in the DO Empordà wine region - Cold maceration and static rest to preserve the aroma - Aged in stainless steel tanks with 100g of residual sugar - Pairs well with nut desserts, dried fruits, and puff pastries Organically produced dessert wine made from Muscat grapes Moscatell de l'Empordà is a naturally sweet white wine from the Catalan DO Empordà wine region. It is produced by the Mas Espelt winery from 100% Muscat of Alexandria. The vines grow on weathered granite soil on our own estate in the Girona region. Production and Aging The grapes are macerated at low temperatures for six hours and then gently pressed. The must rests for 72 hours before natural fermentation begins. This is stopped at about 100g of residual sugar. The wine is then reduced to 15% vol. Alcohol enriched and aged in stainless steel tanks. Aroma and Uses The wine displays floral and fruity aromas with a soft, elegant structure. It is suitable as a dessert wine at a drinking temperature of 6–8°C. It goes particularly well with classic nut pastries, puff pastry desserts with walnuts or the so-called musician's dessert made from fresh and dried fruit.
