LES JAMELLES-SYRAH

Syrah, a grape variety of Rhone origin that has become very popular internationally, expresses itself perfectly in the Languedoc region. It is a rich and powerful wine, combining aromas of red fruits, a touch of mint, with a fresh finish of undergrowth. With a very dark color, Syrah Les Jamelles has a rather syrupy appearance. Its aromas of wild fruits (raspberry, currant, blackcurrant) and floral (violet) combine with flavors of spices, vanilla and cinnamon, with a touch of mint. It is a very rich wine on the palate, fat, with a certain minerality as well as a long and silky finish, of a rare complexity. Nice lingering note of liquorice on the finish. Serve at 17°C with Mediterranean cuisine, a spicy dish, meat in sauce, game or charcuterie. Catherine Delaunay particularly recommends accompanying it with Spanish tapas, a tagine of lamb with prunes or a rib of pork with its tomato sauce with Espelette pepper.
