An androgynous and monochrome leather, enhanced with a hint of cumin and drained by Atlas and Virginia cedars. What is leather (in perfumery)? The leather note in perfumery is quite recent since it refers to the particular smell of the boots of Russian soldiers whose leather was waterproofed with birch tar. This results in two facets, one animal made with castoreum or certain woods such as Atlas cedar; the other smoke created with pyrogenic essences such as cade, styrax or birch. Certain synthetic materials such as IBQ or Suederal give more texture to this charismatic note, but we have opted for Oud Noir whose smell is naturally… leathery.
