A deep patchouli enhanced by a duo of cocoa and cashmeran. What is patchouli? Patchouli is a plant from Indonesia whose leaf, once distilled, reveals an oil with a woody, humid, earthy or even camphor-like and cocoa-like smell. Its scent reaches Europe through trunks filled with shawls from India; since patchouli has insecticidal properties, precious fabrics were wrapped in it to protect them from moths. Fallen into disuse before the second half of the 20th century, it will be brought back to the fore by American hippies, for its supposed aphrodisiac virtues. It is one of the most important raw materials in perfumery, since it allows you to structure a composition, to bring complexity or depth.
