An effusive mate associated with the fruitiness of figs and mint aquatic. Mate, what is it? Mate is a traditional drink of the Tupis-Guarani Indians, made from the leaves of the ilex paraguariensis. Called mate by the conquistadors from the Quechua name of the calabash used in its preparation (mati), mate has been known in Central America for millennia. Used for its purifying and energizing virtues, but also by shamans during divination rituals, mate was severely condemned by the Church in the 17th century, which did not however slow down its use. Its arrival in perfumery is quite recent and classifies it in herbaceous notes with hay and tea, which is why we have awakened it with a touch of aquatic mint and the greenness of a fig accord.
