Being an alcoholic drink it is recommended to use it in moderation as it can cause addiction. CURIOSITY: Sangiovese is one of the most important Italian grape varieties and the most cultivated in Italy. If well cultivated it is the wine with a perfect balance with very refined floral and delicate aromas. This is why attention is needed when blending it with other vines and especially during the ripening of the bunch which must be slow so that the tannins gradually evolve. The story tells how Sangiovese was already known to the Etruscans and then spread to central Italy following its trade routes. Evidence of this would be the fact that their dominions in central Italy coincide with the favorite soils of the vine: Romagna Tuscany Umbria. Another myth instead tells how the name derives from Sanguis Jovis blood of Jupiter name attributed to it by a Capuchin monk of the convent of Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna near Mount Giove during a banquet in honor of Pope Leo XII who asked what the name was sweet drink that the monks had served. The first reliable source that speaks of Sangiogheto and Sangioveto is Giovan Vettorio Soderini, a sixteenth-century gentleman. "Juicy vine and full of wine" tells us "That never fails" but also dangerous because it is easy to make vinegar.
