This classic blend of Herbes de Provence contains thyme, marjoram, rosemary, oregano, basil, savory tarragon, all herbs typical of the region. Some contain lavender though this was mainly for the American market is not typical of blends found in Provence. Herbes de Provence are mainly used to flavour grilled meat, fish or vegetable stews; add during cooking or mix with a splash of oil for a simple herb marinade. You can even throw a pinch on the charcoal in a BBQ for the herby aromatics to gently infuse the meat.
