Black Yunnan Red is part of that category of Yunnan red teas with a robust body and able to give a certain satisfaction even to coffee drinkers who want to try a little bit out of the ordinary. A peculiarity that distinguishes this product is that the leaves have received particular attention during processing. The plant mass during the oxidation process, in fact, was exposed to heat which gradually increased until the leaf became completely brown. This trick meant that the tea retained a certain herbaceous presence in the flavor with a touch of citrus. This sensation, in addition to the processing, is also due to the presence of these leaves that come from some gardens located about 1380 meters high where the mild temperatures help to preserve some fresher characteristics in the product.
