No 400 Piedmontese Hazelnut

Contacting our Piedmontese organic farmer was not easy: despite multiple calls and emails, nothing came back. When we translated the e-mails into Italian, everything went very quickly, so it was just the language barrier: he couldn't do anything with English. And what luck: as is well known, the hazelnuts from this northern Italian region are among the best in the world and we were also able to find that out. Because after extensive and lengthy roasting in our manufactory, maceration and slow distillation, we were able to taste an unadulterated hazelnut spirit with an incomparable aroma that we have never seen before: the nut-nougat notes stand next to fine roasted aromas and slightly sweet hints that are integrated are in a slightly buttery-fatty consistency that is very soft in the mouth and finish. And all this without any further beautifying additives or cask storage, as are all too often used with this product. Because other than water to reduce drinking strength, nothing adulterative is added to our spirit before or after distillation. Its most important aroma component is filberton (5-methylhept-2-en-4-one), the odor of which can be perceived even in the smallest amounts. All we can say here is: it doesn't matter whether it's pure, with dessert or in a cocktail!
