The small town of Ribera is located on the south coast of Sicily on a plateau between the valleys of Verdura and Magazzolo. The very nutrient-rich soils of this area and the climatic conditions are particularly suitable for the cultivation of citrus fruits. "Arancia Rossa di Sicilia" is an EU-protected designation of origin for the Sicilian blood oranges that come from here, of which there are different varieties, such as the Sanguinelle, the Moro and our Tarocco. With its balanced sugar-acid ratio, the latter is the most popular of the Sicilian blood oranges. Important aroma components of the juice are short to medium-chain aldehydes and various esters. The peels, on the other hand, contribute essential oil with the main component limonene. The composition of the juice and oil varies depending on the variety and maturity, so that the taste of the distillates also varies. Our spirit of Tarocco Blood Orange - after being gently diffused in the mouth - leaves the pleasant memory of the freshest and most aromatic blood oranges to savor for minutes. It is best enjoyed undiluted at room temperature. Experienced bartenders will also process this spirit with verbal enthusiasm in new, refreshing cocktails. And last but not least, a touch of this spirit is the icing on the cake of any dessert, be it ice cream or a cheesecake.
