Duneville's - Whiskey 1808

Tradition with a touch of originality. 1808 is a modern blend of malt, grain and pot still whiskeys. THE pot still whiskey is a liquid made in Ireland, it is a mixture of malt and of unmalted barley, which gives spicy notes particularly at the end of mouth. A very slight percentage of peated malt is added and will be noticeable. This whiskey has a minimum age of 5 years and contains approximately 65% cereals, the remainder being composed of malt, peated malt and pot still whiskey. The blend is aged in two types of barrels: virgin oak and oak barrels. American first fill. 70cl - 40% Dunville's 1808 is excellent whiskey in the traditional way - neat or in company of a pint. But it's just as good in a classic cocktail. Tasting notes Nose: An initial burst of sweet vanilla leads to orchard fruits crunchy, apples and pears. Then lemon cream, leading to candied lemon peel with notes of pure malt. Taste: Soft and creamy, buttery, with ripe citrus and baked cookies, coming together in an explosion of fresh lemon meringue, followed by a hint of charcoal and white pepper. Finish: Light notes of dry smoke linger and intermingle with the juicier fruity notes, leading to a finish of sweet spices.
