Unlike rum, which is made from molasses, cachaça offers a different profile – fresher, rounder, with subtle herbal tones. The alcohol content is legally set between 38% and 48%. This variant contains 38% vol. and is particularly suitable for preparing classic cocktails. Cachaça is not the same as rum. While rum can also be produced outside of its growing regions, cachaça is protected as a designation of origin and may only be produced in Brazil. There are also differences in fermentation: Cachaça is often fermented with natural yeast. Some varieties mature in wooden barrels, which results in a slight coloration. The cachaça presented here has a clear color and contains a slight added sugar (up to 6g/L), which makes it pleasantly smooth. Use in the bar The most famous cocktail with cachaça is the caipirinha. Other classic drinks are Rabo de Galo, Brazil 66 or Batida de Coco. For fruitier compositions, we recommend Carnebal Batida. Modern creations such as Manzaninho (with apple) or Somewhere in South America (with coconut and banana) can also be perfectly implemented with Brasilla Cachaça.
