Organic Ceylon "verum" cinnamon sticks 500gr (bulk)

Cinnamon is one of the most consumed spices in the world. Its smell symbolizes Christmas celebrations, the scent of mulled wine at the foot of the ski slopes, speculoos biscuits or even cinnamon rolls. The spice consists of cinnamon bark. It is obtained by cutting a square of bark from this tree which, after drying and aging, bends to form a tube. The so-called “Ceylon” cinnamon, or “True cinnamon”, was long considered more prestigious than cassia cinnamon. Today, the distinction is only a matter of taste. Ceylon cinnamon has since also been cultivated in Madagascar, or in South America. Its thinner bark than Casse cinnamon forms flaky “cigarette” sticks. If Ceylon cinnamon is not as warm as Casse cinnamon, its flavor is softer and more subtle, with notes of citrus fruits, vanilla, cloves.
