Baigorri Belus

Thanks to the large proportion of the variety Mazuelo (80%), this red field blend (10% garnache & 10% tempranillo) is quite unlike any other BAIGORRI wine. A new definition of freshness and elegance; fine-grained tannins combine with great aromatic complexity. Several plots located at an altitude of aprox. 650m, with a ferruginous calcareous clay soil. After manual picking and hand-selected berry per berry, the destalked and uncrushed grapes macerate in oak fermenters. Long intracellular fermentations with indigenous yeasts. Natural extraction by gravity. Malolacted fermentation and 14 motnhs ageing innew French oak barrels of different sizes (225l, 500l and 600l). 92p Tim Atkin, 93p Guía Peñín, 92p James Suckling.
