Sardines in olive oil and organic AOP Espelette pepper - 270gr

Jean de Luz's star from the Criée de Saint Jean de Luz! These sardines have reached their adult size and are fished in the winter à la bolinche (near the coast) in France in the Gulf of Gascony. They are larger and less fatty than sardines that we usually find. The sardines are prepared by hand according to the oldest method which dates from 1804 (at the time of the "Penn Sardin"): they are first salted then dried for 3 days before being put raw, by hand, in a verrine. They thus retain all their taste. They are not fried, which makes them more digestible. As for the organic olive oil, it comes from a small mill in Navarre south of Pamplona. It is prepared with olives from Empeltre variety. Sardines, organic extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of salt, the sardines with chilli pepper are seasoned with organic Espelette chilli pepper which spice them up very slightly. No additives, coloring or other perlimpinpin! A 270g jar is equivalent to approximately 3 classic cans. He can reseal and can be kept for 1 month after opening in the refrigerator. THE JEAN DE LUZ CANNERY IS: An organic, artisanal and local cannery. We are French craftsmen and proud of it, indeed the production of all our products is done manually in our workshop in Saint Jean de Luz in the Basque Country (New Aquitaine). All our ingredients are sourced less than 250km from our workshop in Saint Jean de Luz.
