Wild Blueberry Extra Jam - 350g

Our jams are made in Alsace, with fruit and sugar only, without gelling agents or preservatives. The second generation perpetuates the tradition of a simple and authentic jam, cooked in century-old copper cauldrons, using a unique computer-assisted process, which adjusts the amount of sugar added according to the sugar already present in the fruit. This unique know-how has enabled Confitures du Climont to obtain from the French State the label "Company of living heritage, the excellence of French know-how". Well present in Alsace in all the Vosges mountains, the family Ericaceae, the species "Vaccinium myrtillus" is a small blue-black berry with a diameter of 5mm with burgundy red flesh; growing on low bushes from 30 to 50 cm maximum. A certain confusion has arisen since the importation of Blueberry from Canada and its cultivation in our mountains of the Vosges massif. This Vaccinium Corymbosum, a bush 1m50 to 2m high, commonly called "Bluet" because of its dark blue skin and whose berries are five to six times larger than the blueberry, has light green flesh and a taste of more bland than its wild little cousin. Tasting advice: Accompany fresh cheeses, cow tomme, Comté, Gruyère, Pyrenees and Cheddar.
