Rosehip Extra Jam - 350g

Our jams are made in Alsace, with fruit and sugar only, without gelling agents or preservatives. The second generation perpetuates the tradition of a simple and authentic jam, cooked in century-old copper cauldrons, using a unique computer-assisted process, which adjusts the amount of sugar added according to the sugar already present in the fruit. This unique know-how has enabled Confitures du Climont to obtain from the French State the label "Living heritage company, the excellence of French know-how". From the Latin Rosa Canina, thorny shrub, the rosehip is the most common wild rose in Europe. The berries, called "cynorrhodon" (or "scratch-ass") that have been rid of their pips and their scratchy hair by mechanical centrifugation, give the famous "Buddemües", traditional Alsatian jam, commonly called "jam of eglantine". The typical and traditional character added to the difficulty of its picking and the heavy work of extracting the pips and the scratchy hair, places the rosehip jam in the leading group of sales of Confitures du Climont. Tasting advice: Serve with Munster, Maroilles or other strong cheese.
