
This archipelago lost in the middle of the Gulf of Guinea, was first exploited for the cultivation of sugar cane. Over time, cocoa trees imported from Brazil covered the archipelago, so much so that its production propelled this tiny country to the rank of world producer. The lack of tourism and the growing poverty affecting this paradise island forced the inhabitants to abandon many plantations. It was only after independence that they were able to reinvent themselves by producing less, but of better quality. Cocoa from São Tomé and Príncipes is world famous, highly prized by chefs, and their vanilla reveals itself with just as much potential. Our partner, whose production is brand new, but very deserving, offers us an exceptional level of vanillin!
