Ancho Chilli Powder

Grown in Mexico Peru, Anchos are common to Mexican Southwestern cooking. Our Ancho Chilli Powder is made from ground whole ancho chillies are the most commonly used dried chilli in Mexico with a fruity, earthy flavour that's indispensable whether you're making salsas, sauces or stews. With a heat range between 3-5 on a heat scale of 1 to 10, they have comparablly low heat a good sweetness. Anchos can be used as a substitute for Guajillo or Pasilla Negro. Great in sauces, salsa soups bean dishes. Use in stir fries, or rub on chicken or fish before baking or grilling. Stir a good pinch into soft cream cheese or soured cream for a cooling/warming dip or use to lightly dust popcorn. It’s also ‘free’ on all the slimming plans we know of!
