ZAATAR BLEND: THE ORIENT ON YOUR PLATE Zaatar, sometimes spelled Zathar, meaning thyme in Arabic, is a blend of spices inspired by traditional flavors from the Middle East. Our Zaatar mix consists of sumac, sesame seeds, thyme and salt. This combination results in a rich and flavorful blend, with a hint of acidity, a crunchy texture and herbaceous notes. KITCHEN USE The Zaatar mix is extremely versatile. You can use it as an aperitif by incorporating it into your hummus, as a starter in your vinaigrette, or as a main course, sprinkled on grilled vegetables or in the marinade of your meats. Its unique flavor will bring a touch of originality and a vegetal freshness to your dishes or your mezes. Its most common use, however, is to mix it with a little olive oil and place it all on a Lebanese bread. LOOKING FOR RECIPES TO MAKE WITH THE ZAATAR MIX? Because too many choices can sometimes make it difficult to choose, here are some additional ideas to inspire you: • A delicious Zaatar bread: stir the Zaatar mixture into your bread preparation before baking. • Fish with Zaatar: mix the Zathar spices with olive oil, and brush your fish fillets before cooking or grilling them. • Zaatar Popcorn: For a quick, tasty and spicy snack, add some Zathar mix to your popcorn. PACKAGING AND STORAGE Our Zaatar Mix is available in a 60 g glass bottle or a 250 g refill bag. Store it in a dry and cool place, away from light. The Zathar Blend does not expire, but we recommend using it within 48 months to preserve all the intensity of its aromas.
